The ‘House on Mango Street’ is an excellent book. After reading the book, I am deeply impressed. It is similar to a poem named ‘Growing Pains’. Sometimes, I think it may be another ‘Waiting for Godot’ because it has an ending that gives you a lot of fantasies too.
Most of the time, I was thinking what Esperanza’s future will be like. Is she able to live in a very beautiful house on a hill as she always wanted or is she still living in the Mango Street? This book recorded the final moments of a young girl’s life which is comparable to a ripe mango, full of pulps and juice.
When you looked closer, the book always has various vestiges in it so the writer would write these vestiges down so as to make many little exquisite stories. I hope everyone will try to read this book as this book is very interesting and can be valuable to our experience.
