people是集体名词吗?它是当复数名词用的吧?那么class,family,也当复数用吗?我在课本上看到“the whole family gets together/the whole class passes the exam.”怎么回事?the whole 后面名词跟动词复式吗?
All后面怎么不是?
还有我在字典里看到了“my family have all got red hair”（have）
“His family lives on a farm.”（lives）为什么一个跟动词单式另1个跟复式啊?

family class 这类由个体组成的集合名词作整体讲述把它看成单数,强调其个体成员是就把它看成复数含义（但本身并不加复数形式）
如：His family is a big family.
His family get on well with each other.
people,cattle,poplice 属于另一类集体名词,他们只有复数含义,没有单数含义.
看作整体作单数，个体做复数
